As a kid I was really nervous and anxious about things, and even if I hated that my dad was so pushy I realize that it was probably necessary. How else would I have learned how to ride a bike/ride inlines/play tennis or how to drive a car?
I also think that my dad was always worried that if he didn't push me to do things that I didn't want to do out of fear,I'd grow up to be just as scared of things as an adult simply out of habit. But fear not, dear father! For I've turned out to be quite independent and a perfectly (almost) well adapted adult. And even though he can still drive me completely crazy with ideas and thoughts or ways of doing things that don't align with my own way of thinking, I know that he's always gonna be there for me when I need him. ♥
My mom on the other hand is the most supportive person I know. Of course my dad is also supportive, but his focus lies more with fixing things whereas my mom has the ability to just sit and listen to our problems if that's what we need. She's also always made an effort to interact with us on our terms (for example by sending us cute selfies of her new haircut ☺), and she doesn't have a problem with acting a bit crazy with us (for example by "calling" for us when we go shopping by making weird noises, of course we reply by making even weirder noises ♥).
Basically, I have great parents. They complement eachother really well and I really can't picture them being married to someone other than eachother. You never have to feel stupid or belittled if you come home with a ridiculous problem, they always have the attitude that "we'll fix it together", which I love. I am who I am because of them. ☺♥
